This vibrant eatery specializes in fresh, Hawaiian-inspired dishes that celebrate the rich flavors of the islands. As you step into the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a warm atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or grabbing a quick bite on the go.

The menu at Mama Kim's showcases an array of tantalizing options, with specialty bowls that highlight the freshest catch of the day. Indulge in the Neba Neba, a gluten-free bowl brimming with maguro, okra, natto, and a slow-cooked egg; this combination delivers a unique texture and umami flavor that is hard to resist, all for just $22.00. For those seeking a more traditional experience, the Chirashi with fresh tuna, salmon, and hamachi sashimi artfully arranged over sushi rice is nothing short of a masterpiece at $26.00.

But the experience doesn’t stop at poke. Each bowl comes with a complimentary side of Miso Soup, an added touch that exemplifies Mama Kim's commitment to quality and authenticity—a sentiment echoed by many satisfied customers. Lexi Merryfield raves about the generous portions and the inviting outdoor seating, a charming spot to savor your meal amidst the vibrant energy of King Street.

For those craving something with a bit of crunch, the Crunch Bowl is a must-try, featuring fresh shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and the delightful contrast of unagi sauce, all for $17.00. Jane Koh remarks on the effort Mama Kim's puts into their dishes, noting the freshly fried ebi tempura that sets the Crunch Bowl apart from competition. It's clear that Mama Kim's focuses on quality, with meticulous attention paid to every dish served.

With drinks like the refreshing Yuzu Iced Tea at only $5.50 and a selection of reasonably priced sides, Mama Kim's makes for both an accessible and delightful dining destination. As Alice Ch points out, the bowls here are the best she tried on the island, complemented by the reasonable pricing that makes frequent visits feasible.

The inviting ambiance carries through to their friendly and helpful staff, as highlighted by Sang “JohnLee” Moon, making every interaction pleasant and welcoming. With both indoor seating and a charming outdoor patio, this eatery manages to balance the bustle of the city with an oasis of relaxation.

Excellent, fresh bowls that are delicious! Generous portions and good pricing for very quality ingredients! Nice to sit outside, on a little bit busy of a street but it’s shaded! We will certainly be back!

there’s no shortage of good poke bowls in honolulu. this place is above average definitely but just short of special. its a solid takeout counter with very limited seating. i love that they give you miso soup on the side, which is awesome. i got the crunch bowl, and appreciated that they fresh fried the ebi tempura, instead of a big batch that sat around. so the owners really care about quality and presentation. i also like that they didn’t drown it in sauce. i think some may balk at the smaller portions, but it was just right for me. good choice if you are in the area

The poke bowls here have been the best we tried so far on the island! They include a side of miso soup. The sides and drinks are very reasonably priced, which is also much appreciated. True to the other reviews, the presentation and quality of everything was amazing. Will definitely be returning to eat here.

Today I got to try the 2 selection poke bowl for $18. I chose Spicy Ahi Poke & Kimchee Ahi. I also got to select 2 sides, Kimchee & Pickled Ginger with regular rice. They also gave miso soup and it was all great. The staff here a very friendly and helpful.

Love this spot. It is a quick and fresh poke spot. They serve fresh fish in all their bowls and rolls etc. Street parking is fairly easy to find close by and they have indoor counter seating and a small outdoor patio. The costumer service has always been good.

There are only about 4 seats inside snd 2 tables oitside to sit. The people behind the counter are very knowledgeable and helpful. The poke is fresh, and the toppings are a great accompaniment. We really enjoyed the cabbage kimchi and cucumber kimchi. The trio and shrimp poke were yummy.

Came here on a recommendation from a local that this was their favorite poke spot. The place is quite small but they have a nice bar counter and some outside seats. I got their gyudon and also tried their ahi poke. Both were superb! I loved the miso soup, which is included, and the taegu (spicy cuttlefish). Great food and vibes overall! And the staff were super quick and friendly too.
